Cambria Hotel Fort Lauderdale Beach

The beach is right across the street, and the location is super convenient. I was nervous because of a year-old review, but thankfully this place was nothing like that person's account. Everything was clean, including the halls, lobby, and my room. They wouldn't rush check-in while rooms were being cleaned properly. I got in about an hour later, after the room cleaner let the front desk know which rooms were ready. The room layout was cool, with good lighting and blackout curtains. We used the coffee machine and everything else in the room; a microwave would've been handy, though there's one downstairs at no extra cost. They also have a decent amount of things you might need, available through the front desk for an extra charge. Great stay. I'd come back or recommend this beautiful place.

The hotel was quite nice, but no hot water in my room is a complete deal-breaker for another stay. I reported it and got no response. A woman I met in the elevator said she'd been there three days without hot water, despite notifying them several times. Renting rooms without hot water is inexcusable. If only some rooms are affected, they should close those rooms. If none have hot water, they should close the hotel until it's fixed.

For more than $400 a night, this wasn't worth the price. The shower pressure was terrible, and housekeeping was by request only. On the third day of our four-day stay, I asked the front desk for housekeeping at 10:30 in the morning. The unfriendly woman there said requests had to be made before 10, so they couldn't send anyone. You have to ask before 10 if you want even your trash emptied. I'd pick a different hotel if you expect an experience to match a rate over $400 per night.

We were concerned by some of the negative reviews, but had a great few days here. The facilities were clean, the staff were helpful and nice, and the location was ideal. We had a great experience all around and would stay again.
