Peppermill Hotel Casino in W Wendover, Nevada

I chose to pay for an upgrade when we checked in on April 22, 2026, though the room felt dated and needed some refurbishment. At around 3 a.m., we woke to loud water filling a tub, then the jets running. It would empty a little, refill, and start up again for about an hour and a half, with a short pause. When I told the woman at checkout, she laughed. If you want a good night's sleep, don't upgrade your room. Casino service also needs work: someone asked if I wanted a drink but never brought the beer, and I waited twenty minutes at the bar without being asked if I wanted anything. I eventually had to ask for a beer while waiting for a slot attendant because my ticket wouldn't come out. It was Wednesday and not busy.

We stopped here midway between Denver and San Francisco. The rooms were clean and well kept, and there were plenty of necessities nearby. The attached café has lots of choices on a varied menu. It's a nice place to stay.

I usually stay at the Montego when I'm in Wendover, but tried this place and was pleasantly surprised. The newer rooms are great, with cozy beds and clean, updated bathrooms and showers. I had a good two-day stay. This might become my regular spot.

I've usually loved Peppermill, but after this stay I'm not sure I want to come back. We were on the opposite side of the hotel from the casino, in a no-smoking area, and our room still smelled so strongly of smoke both nights that it was like someone was smoking in there. Neither of us could sleep, and I swear I woke up with smokers' breath. Haha, but seriously, it was awful. What's going on with the ventilation?
