Red Garter Hotel & Casino by Red Lion Hotels

At Red Garter on Nov. 1st 25, we had a quiet, hot brunch that was well worth it. The hash browns were amazing, and the breakfast special was $8.99 for me and my two family members. The food was so good we ended up spending more. Narcizo was an excellent, very polite waiter. I think he's worked there a while and deserves a raise. It's the last deal on the block.

Elida fixed a charge issue on our account, and I updated my first review because of her help. They also said they're working on improving the hotel. The location is good, but security isn't very tight: the outside door doesn't secure the building, and the room door has only a flimsy bolt lock. Thin walls let in noise from screaming children and the ice machine. Maybe parents should let their kids run around outside at 10:30 p.m.? The pillows could use an update, and the air conditioner was missing its front grill.

The staff were nice, and the price was lower than the other hotels, but the place was very outdated. They call it pet-friendly, yet there's absolutely no grass. We got the very last room, where none of the outside doors could close or lock, and the first thing we found was a syringe outside the door. There was no fridge or microwave.

I've stayed here twice because the third-party rate was really good, but a cheaper price doesn't mean a better place. The casino and rooms are outdated, and the rooms have only the bare minimum: no fridge or microwave, just two towels and two washcloths for a double-bed occupancy, plus one little round bar of soap. On the first visit, nobody mentioned the extra $123 charged at check-in: a refundable $100 deposit and a $23 service fee. We only found that out on the second visit. Housekeeping also stripped our room before we had checked out. What kind of BS is that? I went to the desk to complain, but the manager wasn't in yet and they said they'd pass along the message.
