The pool was a highlight, warm and a good size, with a hot tub tucked behind it. We also liked the hearty breakfast, plus the cookies and s’mores kits for the outdoor fireplace. Staff were kind and helpful, and the location made things easy: five minutes by car to the Yellowstone gates and about a ten-minute walk to downtown restaurants. Rooms were the usual two-queen setup, nothing special but comfortable enough. Lodging here is pricey, especially since Yellowstone isn’t a year-round destination. We paid nearly twice what we paid at a Hyatt in Denver. We booked six months ahead with free cancellation and had plenty of time to switch, but couldn’t find a better mix of price, quality, and location.

The pool and hot tub were the cleanest I’ve ever seen at a hotel, and housekeeping did a great job every day. We’ve stayed twice and have been happy both times. The room was dim even with all the lamps on, and the carpets looked ready to be replaced, though the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was a little different from the usual hotel spread, but we ate it five days in a row without a problem. There were cereals, fruit, drinks, bagels, wheat bread and toppings, breakfast taquitos, sausage, and egg patties. Cookies came out each afternoon, and the kids loved the s’mores kits. They also gave us a nice amenity bag for our dog. I’d stay here again.

The breakfast selection was very limited, and parking was a real headache. Buses had no designated spaces and took up several spots, so it was hard to feel confident you’d find somewhere to park. The inn looks good from outside, but inside it needs updating. They say room service is by request to save money and help the environment, yet my room was cleaned every day. The shower has a low-flow head and there are timers encouraging shorter use, but rinsing took so long that I wondered if it used more water anyway. West Yellowstone itself was a disappointment to me. A handful of families own much of the town, and it feels run down for a gateway community. The best food seemed to come from small independent places off the main street, including a barbecue spot and food trucks like the Mexican place and the Smoke Jumper. With millions being made there, many of the amenities still felt poor.

We especially liked the warm cookies, s’mores, bikes, pool and hot tub, and gym. The included breakfast was a nice extra, too. Our room was roomy and comfortable, and the location near the West Entrance made visiting Yellowstone easy. We had a great stay and would happily recommend the place and come back.

Our room was a little cramped, probably because we booked at the last minute, so next time we’d choose a larger one. Check-in itself went smoothly, although the front desk was often busy and we waited in line for questions and other help. Housekeeping was good and readily available. We appreciated the free secured garage and side parking, even though the lot was small and poorly paved; the theft disclaimer posted there felt awkward. There’s no restaurant on site, so we went elsewhere for meals. The included breakfast was enjoyable, and the evening fire with complimentary S’mores kits was a lot of fun. They provided a pack-and-play for our baby, two bottles of water in the room, and a water filter on the property. There’s also an indoor pool, but we were tired from time in the park and didn’t use it. It worked well as a Yellowstone base overall. One safety concern around West Yellowstone: pedestrians sometimes walk unpredictably in the roads after dark. They have right of way, but it can be dangerous to drive there at night. We also saw a car hit one parked by the roadside, which was unsettling.
