Hampton Inn Westfield

We had a great stay away from home, and I’d happily stay again if I needed a hotel in the area. Our soccer tournament was at Grand Park, just a 5 minute drive away, and there were plenty of restaurants and stores nearby for our free time. The staff made sure they could fit our team, with all 17 families staying there. Both mornings, the free breakfast was well stocked and prepared, with plenty to choose from and different menu items each day. The rooms were clean, common areas well maintained, and staff members attentive. They always greeted us coming in and wished us a great day when we left. This was one of the best Hampton Inns we’ve stayed at recently. Thanks for a great visit.

The front desk staff were kind, attentive, welcoming, and helpful. They printed a business document for me when the business center printer was broken. I spent hours working and eating dinner in the comfortable, clean lobby, and the fast WiFi made that a welcome option instead of being stuck in my room. The room was clean and comfortable too, and it was easy to get to with lots of food options nearby. I’d give it 4.5 stars if I could. The only thing that stood out was mold around the shower base where the glass meets the tile. That’s normal wear and tear, but I noticed it more than usual.

We were there for a stay-to-play tournament and had to keep our Friday team reservation even though we didn’t need it. I understand the requirement, but the shower and sink had very, very low water pressure, and the toilets didn’t flush well. The old smart TV wouldn’t work either night, so we couldn’t sign in to our Hulu or Netflix. The room was clean, though. I wouldn’t mind a credit toward our next forced stay-to-play booking.

I was trying to book a room with my points through the Hilton app and asked the night manager if I could have complimentary water while I finished the reservation. He said I wasn’t a guest yet, so I couldn’t have any unless I already had a room booked. I explained I was actively trying to reserve a room for that night and would be a guest shortly. The manager got argumentative and combative instead of handling it professionally. I stayed calm and went to the concession area to call another Hampton Inn and book there. Then he told me to leave because I wasn’t a guest. When I asked why, he wouldn’t give me a clear reason and called the police. I’ve never been treated like that at a hotel. The whole thing escalated over a simple request for water while I was trying to become a paying guest. I felt disrespected and unfairly treated, and hope management reviews how situations like this are handled.
