Econo Lodge

This was an impromptu trip north to visit my adult children in Templeton, Massachusetts, where people who know the area will know there aren’t many options. The property is very well maintained, the rooms are immaculate, and the beds are really comfortable. It was more than I could have asked for. This will definitely be my go-to for future visits, and I recommend it.

If you’re visiting Wachusett Mountain, this is a great location and excellent value. The owners are delightful, and the place is cozy and newly renovated. It’s changed a lot from the motel it was several years ago, in a good way. I highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area.

At check-in, they questioned me about my ID and said I should have it with me instead of using my passport. The three people working there, a woman, her husband, and an older man I think was her father, were very rude. It felt like they were looking for reasons to accuse guests and add charges. My husband was told they might charge me $20 because my daughter’s leaking sippy cup stained a pillow. I had to be very careful, and with kids, I’d say be wary. They charge you for anything. This was my second stay, and it’ll be my last. I felt uncomfortable, especially since the place is just opening. When I checked in yesterday, I went to put my son’s formula in the fridge and found food left in it by the previous guests. The last time I stayed, I cleaned up after ourselves, took out the trash, and even stripped the beds after we used them.

The lodge had just been renovated, so everything was brand new and my room was clean. I was there alone for a quick work stay. Lina at the front desk was friendly. I’d recommend it to anyone.
