Executive Suites Inn

The rooms are a decent size, but they need updating. When we visited, guests were hanging out on the walkways, making it hard to get by with our luggage without bumping into them. I wouldn’t bring a family here. It seems more suited to people looking for a room long-term at the lowest price. I’d only stay for a night if I were desperate for a bed.

We cancelled before staying because we weren’t comfortable with the $50 cash deposit they asked for at check-in. The booking site had never disclosed it. The manager said the deposit had to be cash so it couldn’t be charged back or refunded to the card, and that it would only be returned after he checked the room. I’ve never stayed at a hotel that required a cash deposit.

The outside looked dirty, but my boyfriend and I were pleasantly surprised by the room. It was fairly clean and had a fridge. The bed was small but comfortable, though the pillows were too fluffy and my boyfriend woke with a sore neck. It was quiet, too. Then around 3 a.m., when I got up to use the bathroom, I saw three roaches while I was in there for 20-30 seconds. I don’t care how clean, cheap, or nice a room is, I’ll never go back after seeing roaches.

Prices are great, there’s coin laundry, and there’s no room deposit, though there may be a small deposit for the door card. I stayed this past July. It’s a ways from tourist attractions, but it can still work. I’m careful about security in places like this, so I braced our door from inside with a rubber doorstop. I’m not sure I’d recommend it to a friend.
