Motel 6 Westminster South - Long Beach

I’m an old man, and I know the difference between bad, good, and great service. What I got from SEVEN through the check-in kiosk was the best service. The kiosk experience itself was great, but the person on screen helping me made it especially good. Thank you very much.

The only reason I’m giving this three stars is the young man who checked us in. Thank you, Seven, for being friendly and polite. It was our first time using the kiosk, and it was awesome. The service was amazing, but the room was run down and dirty, which is honestly sad. The smell alone was awful, like mold, cigarettes, and backed-up plumbing. We bought air freshener just to make it somewhat tolerable. The walls were filthy, the beds were terrible and dented, and the lampshades had holes. The top of the door didn’t close, the curtains wouldn’t fully shut, and the connecting door between rooms didn’t reach the floor, so we could hear everything next door. Those guests opened and shut it all night and into the morning. I doubt they slept, and we didn’t either. The shower was the dumbest one I’ve ever seen. This was almost as bad as the one in Rowland Heights, and charging this much for the room should be a crime.

Even if you need a cheap place to stay, don’t choose this one. I’d rather sleep in my car than return. The rooms are old, disgusting, and poorly kept, and I didn’t feel safe as a woman alone. The grounds are neglected, and the non-smoking rooms aren’t really non-smoking. The room phone barely worked, and I told the manager about it many times without anything being done. At 10:30 AM I asked the desk for a fresh set of towels and a changed fitted sheet. Housekeeping didn’t show up until 5 PM, with the items in hand. When I invited her in to do the work, she said, “No. You do it.” I was stunned. That’s the job I’d asked her to do. I called the front desk, got the usual attitude that nobody cared, and the manager did nothing. I called again three hours later and still nothing. There are cheaper, cleaner mom-and-pop motels. This is the least desirable Motel 6 I’ve ever experienced, the kind of place for people with nowhere else to go.

Martina made checking in quick and easy. She knew her stuff and answered every question right away. Great service from Motel 6. I’ll definitely come back and stay here more often. Thank you!
