Super 8 By Wyndham Weston Wv

I had one of my top five motel stays here, thanks to a really friendly staff. I hope they can sort out the idiots spinning around in the parking lot snow for hours, though. I’m not blaming the motel for something outside its control. God bless everyone at Super 8.

The staff were pleasant to deal with throughout, and this is still a good little overnight stop in a great location. The bed and room were comfortable, and for this price range I'd say it beats many others. There were cobwebs in the corners and a lot of dust around the TV and behind the bed, though. Breakfast was limited to a waffle machine and some gravy for biscuits, so it might be great if you're a kid or a cowboy, but there were no eggs or meat without gravy. Luckily, there’s a decent McD right next door. There’s also a nice Mexican-American restaurant across the motel's strip mall. I do think it’s a security issue that smokers keep propping open the side entrance doors.

The room was very clean and the bed was massive. I’m not picky about hotels because I think trips are more about the experiences, and this Super 8 was pretty good despite a few minor issues. When we arrived, the lobby phone wasn't working to call someone to the desk, though someone came in shortly after. There was a musty smell as we entered the room, and a couple of broken curtain clasps made it hard to close both curtains for full privacy, even though ours was a side room and people still walked past. The A/C was noisy too, like a loose bit of metal was getting hit by the fan. It may sound like a lot, but these things were all minor. I expected a few issues like this at a Super 8.

We'd stayed here every year the asylum ball has been active, but we will never come back or recommend it. We reserved a suite for the dates the lunatic asylum announced and checked in online through the link. When we arrived, 45 minutes early, the receptionist with the peach tattoo on her wrist was rude to my husband and told him to return at 3 l because the room wasn't ready. We figured check-in was technically at 3, so fine. She failed to mention they'd given our suite away by extending the previous guest's stay instead of moving them to another room. We got a double bed room, not the suite we booked, and the front desk wouldn't compensate us. One band member tried to ask what was going on, and she told him, “I don’t know what you’re waiting on, I’m not changing anything.” We had a full band, an airbrush makeup artist, her assistant, and 11 people getting ready in one double bed room. Then the desk woman told me, “I’m not even on the clock right now.” The convenience was the only thing that had worked for us before, but this was inconvenient and showed they don't hold reservations. We'd discourage anyone from staying here.
