Wyoming Motel Wheatland

We had booked two rooms a month and a half ahead, but when we arrived to check in that night, the front desk clerk said there were no rooms. She was rude, obnoxious, dismissive, and acted as if we were inconveniencing her more than she was inconveniencing us. One small upside: while we waited for this unprofessional, unpleasant person to answer the door, we got a good look at the grounds and occupants. From what we saw, the business's idiocy may have saved us from an inevitable stolen-property report with the police.

Maybe this motel was once a decent place, but definitely not now. The woman at the desk could hardly speak English; I don't know what her native language was, but her English was terrible. The beds were okay, and that was about it. In the evenings, there was no hot water in the shower or sink, and the sink was clogged. People drank beer and smoked pot in the parking lot every night, and the marijuana smell was everywhere. The ice machine only had a few cubes whenever I checked, and during our five days there we had to go ask for towels because none had been left one day. I will never stay in this dump again when I'm in Wheatland, no matter what it costs elsewhere. What a horrible motel. Good riddance!

We expected at least a warm, clean room, even at that low price, and got neither. The heater was out, and the front door let in enough cold that we froze and slept terribly. The ceiling was coming down, the bathroom tile was cracked, and the shower was covered in mold. The beds were hard, too.

I wouldn't bring my family here, the rooms are on the small side. But when I'm here alone for work, it's really nice. I stay a week at a time, and it has everything I need. The people are nice, and they'll always find extra towels or pillows if you ask. For the price, it's not bad at all.
