There’s a Black Bear diner next door, more fast food nearby, and Tejon Outlets mall just across the street. The T/A plaza is also close enough to walk to, which makes this a handy stop for drivers, though I’d leave a truck and trailer out of the lot. Bobtails are fine. It’s an easy place to break up a trip near the freeway, whether you’re heading toward metro LA or getting out of it, and the price is good for the location. My queen room was spotless and quiet, but definitely small, as you’d expect from a Microtel. I only needed the bed and shower, though suites are available if you want more room. No in-room coffee maker, just coffee in the lobby, and the desk area is already tight. The bathroom has wall dispensers plus a small bar of soap. WiFi was quick enough to upload seven photos and write this review. Breakfast had cereal, yogurt, fruit cups, muffins and similar things, but waffles were the only hot option that day. My main gripe is that there aren’t any AC outlets above desk or bedside table height. One at the desk would help. Still, a very good stop with zero other complaints, and I’ll remember it for next time I’m nearby.

I booked a room at 1 a.m. for that night, and the whole experience ended up being a pleasant surprise. The phone clerk was helpful, check-in went smoothly, and the staff were friendly and considerate throughout. The room and bathrooms were spotless, there were no unpleasant smells anywhere, and the housekeepers are clearly doing a good job. I slept comfortably and never had any concern about bugs. There are three hotels in the area, and this one didn’t seem the most promising at first, but I’d happily stay here again.

We were glad we stopped here on the drive to Orange County. The location and price both worked well, breakfast had plenty of good options, and the hotel felt like a perfect fit for our family of four. The rooms were tidy and smelled clean, a major upgrade from the gross hotel in Buttonwillow that we left without staying. The lower-star reviews didn’t match my experience. I’d recommend this place and stay again.

The room was a solid 10 out of 10: very clean, with everything working, and we got two queen beds because that was what was available. We were traveling late and needed somewhere after a quick stop at the Hard Rock Casino. The staff were really nice, the location was perfect, and the accommodations were excellent. The price was great for all of that.

The freeway exit is easy to reach, and the outlets are very close by. The new Hard Rock Cafe is only a few miles away, too. Everything in the hotel was very clean, the staff were kind and courteous, and I enjoyed the delicious breakfast. I had a very enjoyable day.
