Scottish Inn

We were exhausted after a long drive and arrived at 2:30 a.m. We'd booked online, but the hotel no longer looked like the pictures. It's run down and would need a lot of money spent to bring it up to a decent budget-hotel standard. The whole building smelled of cigarettes, and the "park at your own risk" signs made it feel unsafe. Our room had a broken door handle and lock, one pillow for a king bed, and a main light that didn't work. The bathroom basin was cracked, and the floor had large cracks filled with dirt. We only stayed five hours, but that was long enough. On checkout, I told reception about the problems and got an unprofessional, rude, unnecessarily aggressive response. If we hadn't been so worn out from driving, we wouldn't have stayed. I'd never recommend this place.

I can't find words for how awful this place is. It's one step beyond disgusting service, with a horrible team and experience. I wouldn't wish it on anyone, and hope they close so nobody else has to go through it. One star is too much. You can arrive in a good mood and leave disgusted after being yelled at because someone else had a bed day. Just thinking about the worst people there makes me feel sick. This place is a last resort. Disgusting rooms, disgusting people, disgusting place.

The manager was surly, there was no breakfast, and the place was a roach motel. They charged more at the office than the listed price. Look for somewhere better.

I got there and couldn't find a front desk. Walking down the hall, I saw kids playing, paper scattered on the floor, and general filth. Outside the other end were trash, junk, bicycles, and people hanging around smoking in the parking lot. The building up front, a Red Roof Inn, was boarded up. I called the number for the Scottish Inn and was told the front desk was in that boarded-up building. I gave up and found another hotel, but I'm stuck with the bill. Stay far away. I wish I could have rated this lower. It was one of the worst places I've booked. I was in a hurry and didn't check the reviews; because it was cheap and I only needed one night, I thought it couldn't be that bad. That was a big mistake.
