Home2 Suites by Hilton Baltimore/White Marsh, MD

For someone working out of the hotel, this place could be great. Otherwise it felt a bit underwhelming, though nothing was terrible. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and all the lights worked, but the door had to be pulled tight to shut. It looked worn, with fabric hanging off the bed frame and loose plug-ins. At check-in, I had to sign paperwork that initially included a rule about not using rose petals or decorating rooms. That felt unnecessary and gave me more of a budget hotel impression than a Hilton one. There's a pool, but they seem to limit it to 12 guests an hour, which is unusual. I was there too briefly to use it or ask for an explanation. The staff were friendly enough and put together a good breakfast. The same person handled my check-in and checked me out in the morning.

The breakfast has usually been good, but lately it's gone downhill, and the place feels like it's declined some. Baseball teams make it pretty crowded, too. If you reserve a specific room type, check again before you arrive, because you might end up with the wrong one.

The kitchenette in the room was perfect, and the room itself was good. The bed was really comfortable. The common area ran a little chilly, but that's to be expected. You'll need your room key to get into the pool and gym.

The location worked well for us, close to family and things to do, but the staff weren't pleasant. The day staff were impolite and unprofessional, and the night staff seemed overwhelmed at check-in and didn't know much about the hotel. We were there two nights on our Hilton Honors stay. In room 315, the shower didn't work. I told the staff, but they didn't fix it or offer us a different room so we could freshen up before leaving. Home2Suites are usually pretty good, but I wouldn't recommend this one.
