Lantern Inn & Suites

The staff were excellent, and the hotel itself is beautiful with a great location, a nice bar, and a heated pool. Getting a decent room took a while, though. The first had bugs, the second had a broken air conditioner, and it took three room changes and 1.5 hours to finally get a clean, cool, bug-free room.

Being just 5 mins from the airport and close to some of the country’s best beaches and attractions made this a fantastic base. The front office checked in by text during our stay and was extremely kind whenever we needed anything. We had a great 5 night stay. Daily housekeeping made it feel like a treat to return after busy days, and the room was clean with a comfortable bed and awesome shower pressure. One night the TV shut off and we worried they might think we’d broken it, but the team sent someone to fix it and didn’t charge us incidentals. Thanks for the great hospitality!

We only stayed two days on our way north, and I wish we’d had longer because the area is really nice. Our room was at the back, away from the highway, so it was nice and quiet. It was very clean and had everything we needed. There’s a pool and a fab Tiki bar, and the place was definitely as good as a 4* hotel.

The room was spotless and comfortable after its recent update, with a mini fridge, Keurig, and microwave. We felt very safe, especially with all the cameras, and the area was quiet despite being on a main road and just a couple miles from the airport. We’ll definitely stay again. Check-in began by text, so once we arrived there were only a couple of things to confirm before we got the key. My only issues were the lack of blackout curtains, since the light outside shone into the room at night, and the noisy metal platform beds, which creaked if you just brushed against them.
