The hotel itself was average, as other reviews say. After checkout, they charged me another $848, saying by email that stains on the bedding required cleaning or replacement. I questioned how stains could cost that much, and they said a manager would contact me. That was at the end of September. Despite several email exchanges, I never got the promised call. I also contacted Hilton Guest Services, and they reached out to the hotel several times. Each time, the hotel told them someone would get in touch with me. It's now the middle of November and nobody has contacted me about it. I still haven't gotten the $848 back, and the hotel continues to ignore me. Charging that much for stains and then ignoring a guest who asks about it is completely unprofessional and disrespectful. Owner's response: I've read the details in your reply, and I already contacted your team by email, but they still haven't followed up as promised. I also called the number for the person who emailed me, but reached someone else's voicemail at the hotel. I then called Hilton Corporate Guest Services multiple times. Each time they spoke to your staff directly, who assured them they'd contact me, but nobody has. Your staff know about this and have my contact information. They just keep ignoring the issue, hoping I'll give up. I won't, because this is wrong and not how you treat guests. I'm a Hilton Diamond member and travel extensively, so I know what is and isn't acceptable.

The maid was awesome, and so was the guy who fixed our heater and room phone. Still, we had a very bad experience. The room smelled musty, and the shower barely had a trickle. We were told the total would be $188, but five minutes later a $258 charge showed up in our bank account. Nobody could explain it, and we never heard back. Don't recommend staying here unless you've got tons of money to throw away.

I asked the hotel for some kind of accommodation and was told I needed to speak with Jessica, who wasn't there, and to call the next day. I called on the day I left, Friday the 31st, but have still heard nothing. I didn't want to leave a review and hoped the GM would respond to my request, but that hasn't happened. This was my first visit to California, and for $170 a night I didn't expect a room that felt like a Motel 6. I won't stay here for work next time or recommend it. The problems started when I checked in on October 27th. They gave me a wheelchair-accessible room I didn't need. It was 88 degrees because the AC was completely off, and the room smelled like it hadn't been used in a long time. The old furniture was chipped, and the bed's light fixtures were hanging sideways. I went down right away to ask for a different room and explain the issues, but they said nothing else would be available for the rest of the week. At 2 a.m. I woke up because it was hot. The AC had been running for hours but had only brought the temperature down to 77. I called the front desk to report it and left it on while I went to work around 8 a.m. When I returned at about 4 p.m., it was still 77. I went downstairs to explain that I'd called at 2 and ask why it hadn't been checked. They sent maintenance up, and I was told the whole AC unit needed replacing, which would take about 45 minutes. I waited by the pool, which was nice, while they did the work. I went to bed around 7:30 p.m. and woke up at midnight to the smoke detector beeping because its battery was bad. I called downstairs, and they said nobody was around to handle it. The young man who answered said he'd come up if he had time. By the time he arrived, I'd stood on a chair and tried to remove the detector, which was hanging by its wires. He said it shouldn't beep while hanging like that and he'd tell someone in the morning it needed a battery. As soon as he left, it started beeping again, so I pulled it down completely and took out the battery. Before work the next morning, I reported it at the desk. Since I'd already reported the AC without it being dealt with, I wanted them to know. They said they'd have someone replace it, and they did.

The warm chocolate chip cookies they hand out at check-in are one of the best Doubletree perks, and they were excellent. The hotel seems well suited to groups, conventions, and weddings. I’d stay again, and it's a nice property. We were upgraded to a first-floor King room overlooking the pool, with a lovely patio table and chairs and a great pool view. It was clean, with furnishings in good condition, though the room felt dated. The bathroom was bright and modern, and the bed was very comfortable. As Hhonors Diamond members, we also got a per-person credit, which we used for Evian water and snacks at the small lobby shop. We appreciated that perk. I was looking for a reasonably priced place between Las Vegas and Los Angeles. This was a nifty little hotel in a cute downtown area, surrounded by local shops, bars, restaurants, and places to hang out. We arrived late, too late to enjoy much nearby, and I’d try to get there earlier next time so we could walk around. Parking was free in the attached garage, but it didn't feel very secure, so lock up valuables. The door closest to the garage was bolted shut at night, forcing us to carry heavy bags a long way to the main entrance. If you arrive late with lots of luggage, have one person drop it off before parking. The spaces are very small too, so a larger SUV could get dings or dents. Check-in was fine, but as a Diamond Member I wasn't welcomed back, which would have made me feel valued.
