Two Rivers Lodge

We had two rooms for our November 10 and 11 stay, driving up from Jax, Fl and FT Laud, Fl. The roads were snowy and we arrived late, but the owner waited up to check us in and was very polite. The bedding and towels were exceptionally clean, and the rooms were spotless. The beds were so comfortable that I wish I’d asked what kind of mattresses they were, since they beat the one I have at home. I’m planning to come back for river rafting in the spring and would book here again. After checking out, we went sightseeing nearby and decided at the last minute to stay another night in a different town at a “Resort.” Even with a significant discount from an online booking site, it cost $50.00 more per night, and its cleanliness, comfort, and customer service were nowhere near 2 Rivers Lodge. We spent time winding down by the river after hiking and rafting, and the grassy spot there was perfect. The gazebo was lovely too, with plenty of firewood for a shared fire. We ended up making lots of friends on the front porch, which I really liked, and the rooms were spacious. The owner was warm and helpful, with good suggestions for things to do around the area. Everyone was friendly. Looking forward to coming back.

We paid for two nights and nearly gave up the money to stay somewhere else. The room was a real letdown. There were only two flat pillows, the mattress was hard and lumpy, and the bedspread was the only blanket. We went to a nearby store to buy extra pillows and a blanket. The bathtub looked dirty, and the couch had stains. The small refrigerator leaked, leaving about four feet of carpet wet, while the musty smell hit us as soon as we opened the door. The wallpaper was peeling, and the paneling looked rough. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place.

We come at least twice a year and keep staying here. Both the cabin and hotel are nice and clean. The staff are friendly and will answer questions or concerns, and it’s easy to get help if something’s broken or we need extra towels or toilet paper. They’re very kind, and we’ll keep coming back.
