We left immediately to find another hotel because the room wasn’t hygienic enough to shower, sleep, or even stay in. The toilet had fecal matter in it, and the shower tiles looked like they’d never been scrubbed. We used the provided iron for several bed bug checks, which, surprisingly, turned up no issues, but we noticed a huge yellow stain on the sheet. We’re sure this is a front for illicit activity because there’s no way a real hotel like this makes enough money to stay open. We asked for a refund and were refused because we bolted so fast that we hadn’t raised our concerns with the man at the desk. The cigarette smoke hit us as soon as we came in. While we were checking in, a middle-aged couple ahead of us was checking out at 7 in the evening. We should have taken that as a warning, cancelled, and run for the hills. A stern man sat behind a big sheet of plexiglass and had us pass our credit card through a small opening, like a drug deal. The room had cigarette burns in the blanket, dirty nightstands, and actual holes in the floor beside the bed. It looked as if something very hot had dropped there and burned through several layers. I’ve never seen that in a hotel. Staff were really nice, and the bed was reasonably comfortable. It was affordable for one night, but I won’t return. There was nothing in the lobby, though old photos clearly showed it used to have things there. The desk workers were behind glass. The location wasn’t great either.

We left and found somewhere else that night. The room we were finally given was disgusting, and we requested a refund through the third party we booked with. I wouldn’t trust the good reviews here. First, the hotel smelled of cigarette smoke as soon as we entered. The key to our assigned room didn’t work, and after going back to the desk to have it fixed, it still wouldn’t open the door. We heard something inside, knocked, and found that someone was already in the room the attendant had assigned us. The attendant then gave us a different room that was supposed to be non-smoking, but it reeked of smoke. Smoking and non-smoking rooms share ventilation despite being right next to each other, which makes no sense. Once inside, the lights wouldn’t turn on until we tried a switch several times. Then we saw four large white stains on the bed. There was some kind of red splatter on the bathroom wall. I have no idea what it was.

The deal isn’t worth it. I arrived and saw people stripping, then got out of my car and had guests ask if I’d checked in yet. When I said no, they told me not to. There were about 20 guests in the lobby claiming there were bed bugs, with people stripping and scurrying to their cars. I didn’t even want to check the bed. No bed bugs for me, thanks. They’re easy to catch and hard to get rid of.
