Western Motel

It was cheap, and I only needed a bed for one night, but the place was crawling with bugs. Don’t waste your time or money!

For the price, the room was clean and comfortable, and the sheets and bed were really comfortable too. There were no bugs, despite what some reviews said. I’ve worked in the motel industry and know some things can’t be prevented. If a guest brought roaches in before you, that’s not the motel’s fault, though they’re to blame if they don’t call pest control. If you want five-star service, go to the Hampton. The owner, a woman, was very nice and let me see the room before I paid, which is always a good idea. I needed a handicap room in the middle of the night during a storm. America's best value was very rude to me, and the customers in the ABVI lobby got rude and tried to charge way too much. I chose this place instead, and I’d definitely stay here again when we come this way.

A roach greeted me just inside the front door when I checked in, which was enough for me. I checked out right away. The owner was rude when issuing a refund to my card and said it would take 7 business days to show up. With no rooms available within a 100 miles radius, I’m sleeping in my truck instead of with the roaches.

My non-smoking queen room was large and came with a full-size sleeper sofa, coffee table, and dining table. It also had a microwave, dorm refrigerator, and ironing board, but no iron. The bathroom door has to be closed to reach the toilet paper. There’s a hole in the wall below and to the left of the toilet paper holder.
