Home2 Suites By Hilton Wildwood The Villages

We picked this hotel as a stop between destinations and had a great stay. It was quiet, very clean, and well organized, with a large room that had the comforts of home, including a fridge and washing machine. The bed was really comfortable, and the bathroom had a nice walk-in shower. The staff made us feel welcome, and breakfast was free with eggs, sausage, biscuits, yogurt, milk, and more. I have no complaints. We usually choose Marriott, but this stay has nudged me toward Hilton.

Ed reopened breakfast for us when we arrived, since we thought it ran until 10 and hadn't realized it ended at 9:30. The breakfast staff were very nice. The rooms were fine, though the hotel is by the highway.

We felt safe here, and the location was handy for nearby food and shopping. Over our seven-day stay, the staff, from the front desk to housekeeping and maintenance, were all friendly. The breakfast area was clean and nicely set up, with lots of tasty choices, and the pool was well maintained. The whole hotel was extremely clean. They didn't miss a spot. It's one of the best hotel stays I've had in all my years. 10/10, I'd recommend it.

We were disappointed by both the breakfast and the unclear service expectations. Our suite was for four, but the sofa bed wasn't made when we arrived. We had to ask for sheets and pillows, then make it ourselves. At checkout, we were told sofa beds at Home2 Suites are prepared only when requested, even though that policy hadn't been shared beforehand. The rate wasn't lower than hotels that provide this service. Breakfast was scheduled until 9:30 a.m., but before 9:15 the bread and bowls were already gone. Staff said the bowls were all dirty, and the manager later said guests tend to take them. We found that comment inappropriate. We did receive an apology, but nothing else was done to address or ease our disappointment.
