Aztec Motel

My husband and I spent five days at Aztec in Wildwood for the Barefoot Music Fest. The staff were so friendly, and they even set aside a parking spot that fit our large truck. The hotel is within walking distance of both the beach and boardwalk, and our stay was perfect. We’ll stay here again.

For $500 for one night, this was an awful experience. The room was filthy, the towels were dirty, it smelled like mildew, and there was mold in the shower. The shower hadn’t even been cleaned, and open shampoo bottles and trash had been left in the tub. None of us slept. We barely spent any time in the room because it was so gross; we sat in the car and seriously considered sleeping there instead. I wouldn’t stay again for any amount of money. Don’t waste yours.

The location is great, just three blocks from the start of the boardwalk, and the customer service was top notch. Our room worked for a family of three. There was a sink problem, but maintenance fixed it right away. The air conditioner was very strong and kept switching itself on and off, so we hardly used it. I slept comfortably, though my husband didn’t.

The room was so dirty that we left and got a refund. When we checked the beds after arriving, the sheets had black stains that looked like mold or bed bugs. We told management, but he insisted the sheets were supposed to look that way. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
