Brittany Motel

The front desk staff were really friendly and welcoming at check-in. I used to stay here years ago, then switched motels, but saw online that the Brittany had recently been remodeled. That was only partly true. The furniture was new and the beds were very comfortable, but there's still a lot that needs work. My biggest issue was the smoke. It's supposed to be a NO SMOKING motel, but people in the next room smoked Marijuana all day, and the smell came into our room. Turning off the AC and keeping the balcony door shut didn't help much, and it made the room uncomfortable. The bathroom had a new sink and toilet, but the tub and wall need replacing. The showerhead was clogged, so water came through only a few holes, like a pressure washer, which hurts when you're sunburned. The room door was very hard to open, and there was just one chair, so the bed was the only other place to sit. The location and rates are good, but the room needs a lot of work. Honestly, I don't know if I'll return.

The pool area was nice, and there was plenty of parking, including an overflow lot across the street. The staff were genuinely kind, and the hotel was well located for the boardwalk and beach. Still, the place is so outdated that it's hard to like. The bed was incredibly hard, there was only a top sheet, and the AC was noisy. The shower water kept swinging suddenly from one extreme temperature to the other. We were put in the room they call the breezeway, tucked into a corner by the maintenance closets. Staff conversations woke us very early. They have a job to do, so I don't blame them, but I wish that room hadn't been assigned to guests. The room was disappointing and underwhelming, and it feels like the property doesn't put much of its earnings back into itself. It's one of the cheaper motels nearby, which now makes sense, though it still wasn't cheap. I hate writing this because the staff were so great, but I hope it helps someone avoid the same letdown.

My wife and I have felt like family here because of how much we have in common with the staff. Everyone is kind, courteous, pleasant, engaging, and just so nice. I knew this was where we needed to stay from the day I made the reservation. Housekeeping has been accommodating and patient, and even though my wife and I are organized and clean, we really appreciate the extra care they give. I'm truly, truly enjoying our stay. God willing, we'll be back next year for a longer visit. One staff member and I share a love of wrestling, so I'm leaving with the moniker Ric Flair. Wooooooo!!!

They had cookout food for guests on Wednesday, and it was good. The property is mostly kept clean, but the beds were small and extremely uncomfortable. There wasn't much privacy on the balcony either, since we were so close to the other guests.
