Cara Mara Resort

Great location, but be aware these are condos, not a true motel. I can only speak for the unit I stayed in, unit 209. We woke up covered in probable bed bug bites and had to leave early. Hard avoid.

The name and much of the website misrepresent what this place is. It’s basically a motel with a nice pool. Our room was clean, but relatively dated, and the beds were comfortable. The location is nice, in a good family area, and the other guests were friendly. It wasn’t a bad place, but I felt I paid a lot, probably more than it was really worth. That could be my fault for booking late, though.

Cara Mara was quiet, clean, and family-friendly, with affordable room prices. The pool was warm, clean, and uncrowded. Outdoor music and smoking are prohibited, which made the place peaceful and ideal for families. The service was excellent too. They cleaned the rooms quickly, responded to what we needed, and were friendly. The beach was a short walk away, and the games and rides on the boardwalk were a short drive. My boys, mom, and I had a wonderful vacation here. Loved it and would recommend it. We’ll stay again.

Our room was clean and well maintained, set up as an efficiency with a separate bedroom containing 2 beds and a pull out couch in the living room. There was cable TV in both rooms, a small electric stove, a full size fridge, and some basic plastic dishes and utensils. Rooms are individually owned, so each one is different inside. We had a ceiling fan, though some other rooms didn’t. There’s a pool on the premises, but it’s unheated and has no lifeguard. Gas grills are available. Each room has one parking spot onsite, or you can use free street parking on adjacent streets. The beach is within walking distance.
