Casa del Sol Motel

The location is the one real plus, close to the beach and boardwalk. Our first room had a TV that didn’t work, so we were moved. Less than five minutes later, another family was put in that same room with the broken TV. The rooms smelled bad enough that I bought a plug-in to cover it, and they hadn’t been cleaned well, with cobwebs on the light fixtures and furniture. The pool was extremely dirty, and parking is awful unless you arrive early.

For us New Yorkers, the New Jersey Shore is the closest beach that feels like a resort. It’s relaxed and not pretentious. If you want a getaway without paying a premium for where you stay, Casa del Sole Motel is worth a look. It’s simple but clean, and the location just off the boardwalk means you can park once and walk wherever you want. You’d have to pay for parking on a day trip anyway. Staying here includes parking, so you can take your time, try one of the memorable boardwalk eateries or a great restaurant off the boardwalk, and make a summer memory.

We were three on the third floor, which I thought was the best one. Our small, updated room was clean and had a coffee maker, microwave, and little fridge. There’s a patio with tables and a grill, and the small pool was clean. The boardwalk is less than a block away. It suited our little family perfectly, and it’s a nice family motel. Simon, the manager, was easygoing, very nice, and accommodating. Thanks for making our visit pleasant!

The location is great, and the pool was nice, but it closes at 7 pm, much too early for summer. We paid $420 for two nights, and the place could use a face-lift. The manager seemed surprised when we checked in for three rooms. Their upkeep was uneven: our floors were sandy, there was no hand soap, and a half-used toilet paper roll was sitting on the bathtub. I don’t think the tub was clean. The beds had covers but no other blankets, and I’m sure those covers aren’t washed every time.
