Sea Gull Motel

We just finished a weekend here for the Thunder over the Waves air show, and I can’t say enough good things. The owners are super friendly and go out of their way to make sure guests enjoy their stay. Everything was perfect, and we can’t wait to return next year. The motel was extremely clean inside and out. Our double room had a kitchenette, comfy beds, an updated bathroom, and a balcony. The pool was kept super clean too, and guests seemed to enjoy it. Maintenance staff cleaned the glass around the pool and swept the parking lot every day. Thank you to the owners and their wonderful staff.

When I objected, I mentioned that I’d brought my trailer in previous years without any issue, but got nowhere. It’s the property owner’s right to charge, though this made it seem they had little interest in returning customers. I booked elsewhere, closer to the event, for the same price and with parking included. I’d stayed here in October for an event in past years, always with my trailer and no problem. This year, it felt like they were trying to grab extra money. When I said I was disappointed, they questioned my booking history. I gave them the name of the friend who usually booked all the rooms, and the only explanation they had was, “well this year we booked up”.

Our apartment worked well for our family of five over Memorial Day weekend: two adults, two teenagers, and one preteen. It had two bedrooms, a huge bathroom, and everything had recently been renovated. The kitchen was well equipped, parking was right outside, and the boardwalk was only a one-minute walk away. We also enjoyed the pool, the free morning coffee at the office, and the cleaning staff, who were friendly, hardworking, and kept the property looking great. The apartment is on one level, and wheelchair users can get in via the ramp. Still, the bedrooms are on the small side and the bathroom has a tub, which may not suit everyone with mobility needs. All in all, it was a convenient, comfortable, family-friendly stay.

We came to Wildwood for a basketball tournament at the convention center, about a half mile or nine blocks away. I asked if we could park at 9:30 in the morning, and the family-run business was so kind and organized. They said yes, and even offered us a room that was already clean and ready if we wanted to check in. I may have been lucky, but that kind of service says a lot about how they operate. Everything worked and was clean. The room was laid out efficiently, with two nice beds, a microwave, refrigerator, hair dryer, shampoo, soap, conditioner, and extra electrical outlets. There were deck chairs outside the door and a BBQ on the deck, all within a block of the beach. This place was fantastic. The owners really care.
