Majestic Canyon Lodge, a Dazzler Select by Wyndham

We were traveling with our family and dog, and the $15 pet fee was a huge difference after paying $150 the previous night and $75 the night before that at other hotels. For the price, this place worked well. The suite had plenty of seating and blankets, the dog liked it, and the attendant was kind and helpful. We opened the windows for a breeze since we like things cool, and that helped a lot. The bathroom door wouldn't latch, but with three of us we just made sure not to open it if it looked closed. There's WiFi, food within walking distance, a gas station across the street, and tourist spots nearby. The drive here is beautiful, and the location worked well for my trip from San Diego back to Missouri. I recommend paying extra for the non-smoking suite. I wasn't expecting anything fancy for under $200, especially since our recent stays had been $300-$600. Breakfast is continental, so nothing spectacular, but you can't beat it for the price. I'd stay again if passing through.

The rooms were really clean and the beds were comfy. Everyone was super nice and helpful with whatever guests might need. Food and a convenience store are within walking distance. I'd definitely book here again and highly recommend it.

The parking lot is really small and tight, and there's no continental breakfast, so their website needs updating. It's one of the cheapest places in town, though. And if you like soft beds, this isn't for you. Mine felt like sleeping on the floor.

We've stayed here three times because they accept pets and we like the location, but each visit has been worse than the last. The most recent one was the last straw. I'd mentioned the landscaping after our second stay, and outside it still looks abandoned. Now the inside is starting to look that way too: cracks throughout the walls, stained ceilings, an unfinished three-foot-square drywall patch, and serious cleanliness problems. The dust was so thick on the sprinklers, desk, pictures, lamps, windowsills, and everywhere else that my allergies started acting up right away. The desk and chairs were so stained we didn't want to touch them. There were dark marks on the bathroom walls that looked like spilled soda, and the corroded faucets weren't properly attached to the sink. The smoke alarm was open and had no backup battery. The front desk person was nice and refunded us. Econolodge Corporate had contacted us after my earlier review, but somehow the property has gotten worse while charging more than most places in Williams. We're done with it.
