Holiday Inn Express & Suites Williams

The room and facilities were decent, and the stay itself was okay, but I can’t recommend a hotel where I couldn’t trust the staff with my belongings. I left a souvenir hat behind after checking out and called right away. Reception said they’d found it and were keeping it safe, so I drove more than 100 km back to collect it. When I got there, the hat was gone. It seemed clear to me that a staff member had pocketed it. Management apologized and promised to find it and ship it to my home, but it never arrived and I never heard from them again. That handling of lost property was deeply frustrating and unprofessional.

The pool is closed, with no reopening date expected. Our room was a bit worn, and the desk chair was broken, but the man at the desk apologized and got us a really comfortable replacement from the breakfast area. He said they were working on the problems. Things in motels wear out and need repairs, and since that’s happening here, I’ll give them a pass.

The power went out last night and it was freezing. When I complained about the dirty room, the girl told me she’d already accommodated me by giving me about 5,000 points, and said I could leave if I didn’t like it. She was rude. It was 29 degrees outside, and they say not to use the wall unit for heat, so the bathrooms are freezing too. The rooms are really dirty, like they don’t dust or mop, the jacuzzi doesn’t work, and the pool area smells like mold. The phone machine calls it a new Holiday Inn, but there’s nothing new about this motel. If you can drive 28 more miles to Flagstaff, I’d go there instead. It’s much nicer and cleaner.

Good location, big clean room, and courteous staff. The room had a fridge, microwave, and good water pressure. The thermostat was a little strange, you have to press and hold it to actually change the setting.
