Red Roof PLUS+ Williams - Grand Canyon

We rented three rooms, and all three left us deeply disappointed. They were said to be renovated, but they clearly weren't. The walls were cracked, with paper stuffed into holes, and water damage had been covered with paint that was now peeling. The doors didn't sit right or close properly, and sunlight showed through their panels. It felt like someone could kick one in. Inside, the shower clogged, there was no bathroom vent or AC, and the windows were sealed shut. In an emergency, we'd have had to break the glass. The old, dingy towels were so thin they showed through and barely dried us. The stained sheets were old too, and the comforters and sheets needed replacing. The AC units were so old they barely cooled the rooms at night. This was by far the most disappointing stay we've had. I don't understand how the rooms passed any kind of inspection. My family and I were disgusted by how badly management had let these problems go. I would never stay at this location or anywhere associated with Red Roof, and I do NOT recommend it.

Inside, it's dated but usable, and the bed was very comfortable. I had a good night's sleep. The room was clean enough, but outside everything looked like it hadn't been cleaned in six months, maybe after a red dust storm. Room 207 needs its toilet secured to the floor, it's wonky, and the TV reception was woeful and nearly impossible to watch. The pool was full of green algae, and the broken gate left it accessible to small children, which is very unsafe. The railing by the pool was as shown in the photo.

The pool wasn't available, and the floors were dirty. The place could use a facelift, since a few pieces and parts are missing. There was something sticky on the chair, and the cooler had its check-filter light on. On the plus side, the refrigerator and microwave were nice, the towels and sheets were decent, and I didn't see any bugs during my stay. The people were friendly enough, and the windows worked, though I had to fix the screen a little.

It's dog friendly, and being right next door to the new Canyon Coaster was handy. We had fun there. But I can't figure out what makes this a Plus instead of a regular Red Roof, maybe the on-site restaurant, though we didn't eat there. The room was only a little better than a tent, and I like camping. The floors were dirty, drywall was coming away around the bathroom window, and the toilet rocked. The shower curtain had a big stain and no liner. The towels were dingy, there was a gap around the door letting in lots of light, and the cable cord was worn and loose on the floor. There were bugs in the bathroom lights too. The bed and pillows were hard as rocks, and the pool was green. There's not enough Route 66 charm to make this worth a stay, and I wouldn't recommend the hotel.
