Rodeway Inn & Suites Williamsburg Central

The room was dirty, had roaches, and the toilet clogged multiple times. When I told the front desk, they handed me a plunger, said “good luck,” and told me to leave it outside the door afterward. I chose this hotel because I’d had no issues with the brand before, but this one was terrible. I wouldn’t recommend it. Zero stars if I could.

The front desk gentleman was a pleasure at check-in. In my experience, most Choice staff are dismissive, but he was friendly and made sure I had what I needed. The room was great for the price and looked like the pictures online. I did notice painter’s tape outlining an area on the wall, but it didn’t get in the way. The hotel is conveniently located near lots of places, with restaurants next door, including one that shares the lobby entrance. Both looked busy, so I assume the food is good. Parking was a little inconvenient because one restaurant shares the lot with the hotel. It was packed when I went out to a store, but empty later in the evening after the restaurant closed.

We booked six nights but left in the morning. The room was filthy and smelled bad. The carpet was so dirty I couldn’t even tell what color it was. The outlets didn’t work, the bathroom was a mess, and the windows wouldn’t open. The supposed deluxe continental breakfast was misleading: all they had was Froot Loops and tiny muffins that looked dead. I can’t recommend this place. If zero stars were an option, I’d give that, or even negative stars for the false advertising.

We got a great night’s sleep and I’d stay here again. The beds were comfortable, the staff friendly, and the room very clean, with great AC, a mini fridge, and a microwave. We booked at the last minute after our other hotel canceled because its AC was out. I picked this place because it had the best rate and was pleasantly surprised.
