Spark by Hilton Williamsburg Historic Area

The rate was hard to beat, and the staff were very friendly at both check-in and check-out. We stayed the night before a W&M dropoff to try the hotel for future years. It was quite new, but our room wasn’t as clean as I expected: there were handprints on the door handles, dust bunnies on the floor, and sand under the mattress protector at one corner. We didn’t see bedbugs, and the bed in the adjoining room was fine, so maybe ours was an anomaly. Breakfast was meager, which we expected for the low price. The proudly served Folger’s coffee was pretty weak. The low rate is hard to beat, but for a few dollars more I’d probably suggest another hotel, such as Hampton Inn.

We’ll definitely stay here again next time we’re in town. The price was right, the beds were comfortable, the towels soft, and it was quiet with a perfect location between Historic Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, and the shopping outlets. The staff were super kind, too. And did I mention how CLEAN it was? I’m a clean freak and have walked out of plenty of hotels after seeing the room, but not this one. 10/10, highly recommend it to anyone nervous about booking somewhere they haven’t seen.

A great last-minute find for our one night in town. The price was perfect, and the room felt clean and inviting. Breakfast was free, though more of a light snack. I think we’ve found our new place to stay whenever we’re back.

The location makes it easy to get to all the Williamsburg attractions, and the modern hotel was clean, with plenty of in-room amenities and a seasonal outdoor pool. Staff were friendly without hovering. Breakfast is a basic continental spread: cereal, muffins, bagels, hard-boiled eggs, juice, and coffee or tea, with no hot items. There are several good breakfast restaurants nearby, though. It’s a great value, and I’d recommend staying here.
