Update: We were told to leave after we’d raised the problems with the front desk several times and my sister tried speaking with them. They fixed only the key-card lock. The other issues were left unresolved: the door was broken with no doorstop or deadbolt, there was no trash can, they wouldn’t provide fresh sheets, there was no on-site laundry, no smoke detector, no bathroom door, a nonworking toilet, exposed wires, roaches, and no security cameras. Rooms should not be rented in this condition. Do not stay here if you care about your safety. I checked in today for a weeklong stay. They don’t offer refunds. I have a task-trained service dog, and they said they normally charge for one but would “make an exception.” The toilet didn’t flush properly, and the door wouldn’t lock. It opened with or without a keycard. We were told someone would come by later, but no one did. When I returned, the repairs still weren’t done. There was nobody at the front counter, and my calls every few minutes went unanswered. The AC barely works, and I have seizures, so sleeping in the heat can trigger one. This feels only a little safer than being on the street. The situation is ridiculous and unsafe.

I barely slept because I kept worrying someone might break into my room. The building looked dirty, dark, and frightening inside, and people sat smoking right in front of the entrance, blocking it. Trash bags were piled by the main door too. The bed was hard, the TV didn’t work, and water dripped from the bathroom ceiling all night. I still can’t tell if it was water, since the bathroom smelled bad. This was the worst part of my trip to Williamsburg. At $78 a night, I suppose you get what you pay for. I’d spend a little more for somewhere cozy and avoid that stress on vacation.

The room was very large and looked fairly clean, though I couldn’t tell how deep the cleaning went. I noticed a few white spots on the floor and didn’t like the somewhat sickening smell, which reminded me of fruity vape liquid. The General Manager was nice, though some of the others weren’t as friendly. We had to ask for more towels, and there were no pillows or sheets for the pullout sleeper. It was nighttime, after 8, and the single person at the front desk acted like nobody could provide any. The room was spacious, but for the price I think I could have found a better hotel. Next time I’d try other options first. Still, this place was better than the Motel 6 on Richmond Road, which was filthy, smelled awful, had ragged furniture held together with tacks, and had very nasty pillow covers and sheets.

People yelled in the hallway all night, and the toilet couldn’t be used without getting a plunger from the office. The room was extremely dusty, and my husband had to go to the store for three air fresheners and decongestant medicine because of the smoke. We had reserved a first-floor, non-smoking room but were given a smoking room on the second floor instead. This was the worst place we’ve ever stayed. Never again.

I asked for a room with two beds because I had kids, and paid $50 for the night. They gave me a key, but the room had just one bed. When I went back to explain, they gave me a key to a different room that was infested with roaches. They were in the fridge, microwave, bed sheets, and all over the walls. The room smelled moldy. I don’t know how they’re still in business. It’s disgusting.
