There was food stuck to the bed cover, a cigarette burn on the comforter in the non-smoking room, and a blood stain on the sheet. The refrigerator and microwave were sticky and dirty, and the floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since the place was built. We were booked for two nights but so grossed out that even staying one night was hard. It was late and too cold to sleep in my car, though I would have felt better doing that. At least I got a refund for the night we didn’t stay.

We found roaches in the bathroom, heard banging and other noise all night, and saw broken beer bottles in the stairwells. The rooms were very dated, with peeling paint and a couple of holes in the walls. It’s close to just about everything in and around Williamsburg, but there are plenty of other hotels nearby. I’d strongly recommend looking at one of those and avoiding this place.

There were mouse traps all over the room when I checked in, with a dead roach beside one. I contacted Expedia, where I’d booked, to ask for an immediate refund, but that wasn’t available right away, so I asked the hotel for another room. They got mad that I’d gone to Expedia first and said I should have come straight to them. The TV in the next room wasn’t set up, which wasn’t a major issue, but it was freezing outside and the heater didn’t work. When I told them, they got mad and said they couldn’t keep changing my room. They said someone would come check the TV and heater. The man who came barely understood or spoke English. He turned the heater off and back on, then told me to wait 30 minutes for the room to warm up. An hour later, it was still cold. I have a one-year-old who gets sick easily, so he caught an attitude, and they finally moved us again. At 6 a.m. on checkout day, my son woke up hungry, so I went to change his pamper before feeding him. There was a roach in his hair, and two more crawling around. I packed our things and left. This was disgusting and unprofessional, the worst experience I’ve had. When I asked for some kind of partial refund, they offered $11. I wouldn’t choose this hotel again in a billion years, and if I were you, I wouldn’t either.

The owner’s wife is a little rude. Other than that, it’s a great stay if you can get past all the kids roaming around the parking lot unattended. The oldest looks about six, and they’re scattered everywhere.
