The spa was the best part of our two nights at the Tyler Guesthouse, and it was worth every penny. The room and breakfast were much less impressive. I found four hairs on the shower walls, and the body wash seemed mostly water. The duvet was just wrapped in two flat sheets, which struck me as odd. On my birthday morning I tried to order breakfast in bed through the QR code at 8 a.m., but it said the menu wouldn't be available until the next day. My husband eventually called the front desk and reached the restaurant. An employee explained they were serving from another kitchen, though it would have been helpful to know that at check-in. My biscuits and gravy arrived barely warm and weren't very good. When I unrolled the silverware, there was a long blonde hair on it, though it might have come from the couch where I set it while unpacking. Next time we'll probably pay more for the Inn instead of the Lodge, and hope the only hair we find is our own.

Housekeeping left about $200 in cash untouched when we accidentally left it in a very obvious spot in our room. That honesty really stood out. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout, and everything about the stay felt easy. The Williamsburg Lodge is right in Colonial Williamsburg, close to everything but still peaceful. The property is lovely and well cared for, and our clean, comfortable room paired historic character with modern comfort. We'd absolutely return and recommend it.

The location is hard to beat, and the on-site restaurants serve excellent food at reasonable prices. Staff are kind, gracious, and professional. Our family has been visiting Colonial Williamsburg for decades and has tried every kind of room at The Lodge. We’ve found them all fabulous: spacious, well equipped, quiet, spotless, and fitted with comfortable beds. The public areas are roomy and beautiful, with the same timeless, elegant, old-school style they’ve always had. We look forward to staying again whenever we get the chance.

The room is a little dated, but it was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had fantastic water pressure. What made the stay memorable was how thoughtful everyone was, from the door attendants and front desk to the coffee shop team. They even surprised my daughter for her 13th birthday, which meant a lot to us. The gym and pool are beautiful, and it’s an easy walk to Colonial Williamsburg and the college. It’s a special place, and we had a lovely trip.

The room was bearable, but several details made the weekend more stressful than it needed to be. There was no bathroom fan, and paint was peeling from the ceiling. The mattress and pillows weren't comfortable. Blackout curtains were there, but the track for light-filtering curtains had nothing on it. A microwave would have been useful, too. At breakfast in the Traditions restaurant, we waited 20 minutes despite plenty of buffet food and open tables. They were short staffed, and still had servers bringing drinks and taking payment. The small parking garage was full when we returned around 9:15, so we had to park elsewhere. The hotel is beautiful, with historic charm, and the doorman and front desk staff were excellent. Still, the room, breakfast wait, and parking could have turned the weekend into a much bigger hassle.
