Fairfield Inn & Suites By Marriott Williamstown

I’ve been staying here for about three weeks for work travel. The hotel is fairly clean, though some areas need more attention. Service has been inconsistent, and as a platinum elite member I expected more. Jose has been excellent, always kind and helpful, as has the new employee training with him. Alejandro has also been great, helpful, and thorough with the cleaning. The room has been a letdown, especially the constant noise from guests below me. Doors and drawers slam horribly. Even with foam earplugs and brown noise playing, I’m disturbed, and I wear the plugs around the clock. It’s appalling that the building has so little sound insulation. When I’ve contacted the front desk and asked to speak with a manager, I’ve felt ignored, as if my concerns were annoying staff. Being woken up and repeatedly disturbed by the poor noise reduction is extremely frustrating. Bring earplugs if you stay here. The linens and towels also need improvement. I’ve now spotted small blood stains on two comforters. Even if they’ve been washed, seeing that on bedding is disgusting.

I don’t recommend booking here. The hotel seemed poorly maintained, wasn’t clean, and was significantly overpriced. The first room they showed us clearly smelled of smoke. The front desk attendant said a former employee had smoked indoors there and they couldn’t get rid of the smell. In the second room, we found open food containers and the TV on when we entered. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned or someone had used it for dinner. After the attendant confirmed we wouldn’t be charged, we left without checking in or staying the night. The next day, two separate bills for the room were charged to my Amex anyway.

We enjoyed the pool and whirlpool an hour and a half before closing, and there were plenty of towels. The room was extremely clean, as expected, and the staff were very accommodating. My wife and I had a terrific experience at the Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Williamstown. We’ll use this location whenever we travel to Williamstown.

I’m happy with the stay and would recommend it. The rooms were very clean, I liked the funky atmosphere, and there was some pretty cool high-tech stuff in the room. Check-in went well, and the guy at the desk, who was bald, was informative. I forget his name. The afternoon/evening front desk person was really personable, too. I’ll come back.
