The cabin made it easy to settle in right away, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook some good meals. It was easy to find, beautiful, and felt like home. We slept so well in those beds that getting up was a struggle. After exploring McCaysville and Blue Ridge, both a short drive away, the hot tub was a lovely extra. The view made the whole getaway feel just right. We're already looking forward to another visit to Simpler Times Cabin!
The cabin was clean, though older and only partly updated. What they call a shared bunk-bed space is actually a closet off the upstairs bedroom. You can only get into it through the bedroom, and the bunk bed covers most of the doorway. The AC stopped working during our stay, so the cabin got really warm and it was miserable trying to do anything there.
It was cool, but the checker pieces were missing when we arrived.
