The only thing that kept this from being a one-star stay was the complimentary coffee in the lobby. I paid a lot because of the season, and expected the bistro to be open. I’d planned to get food and catch up on work in the lobby, but the restaurant was dark and all I was told was that it was closed. Staffing may have been the reason, which I can understand, but charging that much without a core brand amenity hurt the stay. I won’t stay here again. There was a powerful air freshener smell everywhere, including in my room. Check-in was a very quiet exchange with an employee wearing an earbud. The room was old, run down, and cheaply renovated. I had to use my own wipes on the desk and end table because of signs of previous guests, and there was hair and debris throughout the bathroom. The strong fragrance made it worse. I doubt the people working there are to blame. It feels like ownership wants a turnkey business without doing the work to make beds, pour coffee, or check people in. I know staffing is hard, but this is a good example of what’s wrong with hospitality.

The lobby was especially welcoming, and the gym and pool were pretty good. Our modern room was clean, dark, and almost quiet, though we could hear the neighbors next door and people in the hallway. Apart from that, it was a good stay with nothing else to complain about.

Jovon made our stay wonderful. He was cheerful, friendly, and went out of his way to make sure we had what we needed while holding down the fort on his own. The rooms were clean and well equipped, and the beds were very comfortable.

The location is convenient, with quiet traffic, and the check-in clerk was very nice and prompt. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the shower nice. But I booked after searching for “free breakfast,” and my reservation said breakfast was included. They then told me it would cost about $15 a plate. I would’ve booked anywhere that really offered free breakfast, so that felt like false advertising and I won’t return. The Wi-Fi was unnecessarily hard to connect to from my laptop, though my phone connected. The walls and floors are thin, so plenty of noise came through.

Our group was visiting Burlington, and Jovon went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The rooms were clean and the location suited our needs. I’ll stay here again on a future visit.
