Grand View Motel Williston

For under $40, I got a small room for one and slept really well. The bathroom was clean, the shower was great, the bed was comfortable, and the free WiFi was super great. The TV had lots of channels, and there was plenty of parking for a big truck. A cool new restaurant was within walking distance. My room was outdated, but in a cool kind of way. The front desk manager was very hospitable. I don't know what the negative reviews are about. It was a peaceful night, and I'll be back next time I'm here.

I called hoping for a decent rate or some unusually good customer service that might show the place had improved, even after reading the reviews. The woman quoted me $179 for a single room. I was surprised, having seen pictures of the motel, and she got snotty, asking whether I knew where I was calling. She told me most motels in Williston cost over $300. I was glad to learn that wasn't true. I called all the budget motels and got quotes from $86 to $130. Call around and read the reviews. Motel 6 offered a clean, modern room and a friendly atmosphere at a modest price, thanks to one of the friendly ladies there.

The room was so full of cigarette smoke that I gagged, despite being told this was a non-smoking motel. It was also really dirty. When I told the employee I wouldn't stay because of the smell and lack of cleanliness, he glared angrily and took offense, then sent someone with aerosol spray to cover the odor. Please. Getting my money back turned into one headache after another. The employee couldn't have cared less, and Expedia was even worse. I spent 45 minutes at the front desk trying to get back my $101.28 for one night. The money wasn't returned until 3 days later. A poor experience and unacceptable, even knowing there aren't many options in Williston. Do not stay here.

The plumbing was atrocious. Sinks overflowed and started filling with water from other people's rooms, and the toilets were constantly falling apart. They weren't secured to the floor and wobbled. The rooms were peeling apart, and my daughter's door wouldn't latch, leaving all my belongings unattended behind a door that wouldn't lock. After I raised these issues, the hotel manager kicked me out without a valid reason. He was rude and verbally aggressive, and wouldn't explain why I was being told to leave. My stay was horrible.
