The staff were friendly, and the bed was comfortable with decent pillows. My room was being refreshed in a calming light blue style, as the hotel is in the middle of renovations. I parked in the toilet spot. The pool area, though, was packed with boxes and crates, and the water was a toxic green. I was disappointed since I booked specifically to use the hot tub while visiting friends and relatives. There was plenty to choose from at breakfast, but the quality was questionable. Waffle batter was running all over the counter, the sausage patties weren't cooked through, and there was sausage gravy but no biscuits. Bread options were limited and there was no fruit. Still, I had enough for a filling breakfast.

The check-in was especially easy because the front desk gentleman was so welcoming, articulate, and professional. The AmericInn in Willmar was clean and cozy, and I felt comfortable throughout my recent stay. I'd happily return and recommend it.

The room was a mess of problems. There was no warm water, the tub wouldn't drain, and the little bed sagged. The pool and hot tub were still out of service, just as they had been when I tried to stay last spring. The water was green and covered with ice, and the area was full of boxes. Nothing on the website mentioned the closure. I asked for a handicapped room with a queen bed, but was offered only a full-sized bed upstairs at the end of the hall, with no elevator. There were four cars in the lot, and no waffles, which is what they're known for. When I asked the front desk, they offered to cancel the room and keep all my money. Before checking in, I'd also called the main office in Texas about staying at Days Inn. The person there and the front desk guy acted like brothers, and again offered that I pay twice for a room at Days Inn. No refund, even though I hadn't checked in yet. It was a horrible experience.

For $180, and with the Wyndham name, I expected a lot better. The room's doors wouldn't open, so every time we went out we had to call for help to get back in. Once, the handle actually came off. There was mold on the bathroom wall, and plastic under the sheets that made the mattresses seem dirty. The only chair had a broken wheel, and my husband nearly tipped over. We couldn't get the TV working after several tries, so we gave up. Breakfast was pretty much nonexistent. Worst hotel I've stayed in.
