Cypress Creek Cottages

We had a lovely deck looking out over nature, with our own hot tub, and the bed was amazing. The cottages are charming, spotless, and nicely appointed. I highly recommend staying here and hope to come back for a couple of quiet days. Totally relaxing!

The hot tub was a real perk for us, at a great temperature, and we used it several times. We stayed in Cottage #1 and found it clean, nicely decorated, and comfortable. The kitchen was set up well, too. I'd choose this property again if I need somewhere to stay in Wimberley.

The cottage itself was cute and well furnished, with a comfortable bed. It was in a quiet spot close to town. But our anniversary stay turned into a frustrating series of moves, with no apology and almost no compensation. The only thing we received was a bottle of wine. On Thursday morning around 8:30, the shower spout came off the wall and shot across the tub, leaving a bare copper pipe with water coming out. My husband called the property managers, who brushed us off and said maintenance would arrive at 9. The cabins on either side were empty, so we asked if we could shower in one of those to get started, but they said no. The maintenance man arrived at 9:15 and quickly confirmed it wasn't a simple fix. We waited for the property manager to call with a plan, but no one did. When we called, there was no answer. Eventually maintenance came back and told us to move into the cabin next door, so we packed everything up and moved. We showered there and went out for breakfast and sightseeing the next morning. After returning briefly to pick up something we'd left behind, the property manager came to our car and said we'd been given the wrong information: we weren't meant to sleep in the new cabin, only use its shower and then return to our original one. A new couple was arriving later, and they needed the cabin cleaned again. So we packed a second time and moved back. The service left me very upset. The back-and-forth and lack of apology or fair compensation for the inconvenience were unacceptable. I’ll tell family and friends to avoid this place.

We had a great stay, and the location was convenient for the little downtown area in Wimberley. Being dog friendly was the main draw for us, especially with the small dog run where we could let our dog off leash. The accommodations were beautiful and had what we needed, including plenty of towels and bath robes for the hot tub. My one suggestion is to fix the pocket doors. They don't close all the way, which matters for the bathroom, and some get stuck. The bedroom door in our cottage could only be unstuck from the inside.
