Deep Water On The Blanco + Guest House 5 Bedroom Home

We keep returning to Deep Water on the Blanco because it's a great place to get together with friends and family. The house has plenty of space, comfortable beds, and everything we need. There are two decks to choose from for enjoying the view. We like fishing, dipping our feet in the water, making smores, and relaxing. The kids can float around in tubes when the river is high enough, which depends on when it last rained. The place is also very close to town and things to do in Wimberley.

We came for the solar eclipse and couldn't have asked for a better place to feel close to nature. It's a large home on the river, well suited for friends or family, and only minutes from the restaurants and shops around Wimberley square. For a magical Wimberley getaway, Deep water is hard to beat.

This house had plenty of parking, and the leasing company responded quickly. It's five minutes from Wimberly and seven minutes from HEB. The kitchen had plenty of pots, pans, dishes, and spices, and the fridge was large. There was also a jacuzzi, and the river runs right behind the house. We found this home on Airbnb for a business retreat with our staff. We wanted to have everything available without leaving, especially river access. The water nearest the house was shallow, slimy, and dirty, so we drove 38 minutes to Blanco State Park to get in the river. I wouldn't recommend entering the river from the home's location. The house was spacious enough for our group, but it wasn't clean when we arrived. We had to sweep and mop, some beds had stains, there was hair on the pillows, and the showers were dirty. There were roaches, ants, and spiders. Insects can happen in a home out in nature, but roaches are something good fumigation could address. The jacuzzi jets worked, but the water wouldn't heat up. The fridge didn't cool properly, and adjusting the temperature control didn't help. The only kitchen gripe was the tiny bottle of dish soap. Other than the river access, the cleanliness was the biggest disappointment. We wouldn't stay here again because we'd have to drive to another town for usable river access. In that case, I'd suggest staying in a place like Blanco instead.

The backyard was so picturesque, and I want to live here! We had the best long weekend with the family. The kids, who are tweens, loved exploring the shallow stretch of the river and hanging out in the hot tub. Mom and dad were happy relaxing outside in the chairs with a glass or bottle of wine.
