Beds on Clouds

We had a great stay, and the location was very convenient, less than a mile from Windham resort. The room was very clean and breakfast was a welcome addition. Rebecca stayed up late to make sure we wouldn’t get lost and to give us our key. Both co-owners, Rebecca and Sato, were extremely friendly. They were proud of the filtered water throughout the property and of Sato’s wonderful art.

So much misleading advertising. At best, this is a one star place. It’s called a bed and breakfast, but there was no breakfast on site. She suggested the diner down the street instead. Our towels had stains, there was no cleaning service, and the king bed was two twins shoved together at the last minute, with bedding squished behind the bed. There were huge cobwebs, too, and no “24hr cookie jar.” The host was rude and upset that we booked through an online site, saying she’d been kept up all night waiting and mentioning her poor health. We’d called ahead to say we’d arrive after 9:30, after driving four hours in rainy weather. Save your money and frustration and stay elsewhere.

The rooms are a good size and the bathrooms are great. The hosts were friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help. With four restaurants within 200 yards, we could leave the car behind for dinner. Breakfast was cooked individually and made fresh whenever we wanted. The decor is quirky and very art deco, and we loved it. The furniture and fittings must have taken years to collect. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Amanda and I were road tripping around New York state when we booked a last-minute night at 'Beds on Clouds'. The room was tiny but comfortable, and that was fine for just one night. Our hostess Rebecca was quite a character, with strong beliefs that might be a bit much for some people. The house is full of little knick knacks, and the wall photos suggest a life full of interesting stories. Breakfast was OK. Stayed September 2016
