The nightstand was so sticky my phone made a sound when I picked it up, and there were curly black hairs on the bed. The floors, counters, and shower were dirty too. I didn't touch or use the towels, so I can't comment on those. The hallway carpet was filthy enough that I could feel it through my shoes. If you've walked on that carpet, you'd understand what I mean. I didn't dare use the window unit in case it blew something into the already disgusting room. I wasn't expecting much for the price, but this level of filth is gross. If you can park somewhere safe and sleep in your vehicle, choose that instead.

The room was okay, but it needs a thorough cleaning. The older female associate asked me for a $100 deposit. None of the policies I checked mentioned any deposit, including the information for my reservation through the Hopper website. I kept my receipt and am now considering hiring an attorney over what I suspect are racist practices.

We both woke up feeling unwell with sore throats, and the neighbor kept making noise while we were trying to sleep, going in and out of their room. I had asthma and wouldn't have booked if I'd known it was a smoking room. When I booked at Econolodge Inn at Windsor Locks, nobody told me that, and I was told there weren't any non-smoking rooms. One of the worst experiences I've had in a long time.

The hotel was dilapidated, and it was the first time I'd ever seen a cockroach in a hotel. The heat was over 80 degrees throughout the building, and I couldn't adjust it in the room because the thermostat didn't work. Each room cost me more than a suite at staybridge suites. I would have left straight away if I hadn't been stuck in a predicament. I'm surprised this place is up to code and allowed to operate.
