The room looked old, and there was mold on the shower walls. I told someone it needed bleach, but when we needed assistance, staff seemed nowhere around. At check-in I’d asked about the pool and hot tub and was told they had them. Later we found the hot tub had been out of service for quite some time. I mentioned it to the front desk woman, who said she’d ask the owners about a discount. Breakfast was poor too, with watered-down juice, nothing replenished, and overflowing garbage.

For the price, this was what I expected, and I was completely satisfied with the pool and workout area. Cleanliness could have been a bit better, but the important things, the bed and bathroom, were good.

I’m glad we only stayed one night. The toilet wobbled and wasn’t sealed well, though luckily it didn’t leak. The vanity faucet was reversed, hot ran cold and cold ran hot, and the pillows were very thin. My non-smoking room smelled like a mix of chlorine and smoke. I opened the pool area door to look and my eyes stung from the chlorine, so I never used it. The front desk said the hotel had recently been remodeled. Wow. If I’d known how crappy it was, I would’ve driven farther for more choice.

We’d booked this place by accident while trying to get a hotel in Madison, so I hadn’t read the right reviews. The hotel felt dirty everywhere. At check-in, no worker was around, so we wandered the halls looking for someone. Another customer had been calling to check in and couldn’t get an answer either. The elevator looked gross and sounded ready to break, with food and trash visible above the lights. The whole place was humid and smelled bad. In our room, the bathroom light was loud and took forever to come on. There were blood splatters on the shower curtain, and the bathroom was gross. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, with stiff, nasty bedding and yellow, flat pillows that looked at least ten years old. When we asked for a new pillow, the woman said she could look for a “less old” one. There were roaches on the breakfast room countertops, where the food was. Checking out was another long wait to find someone at the desk, and then he took forever to help us. I’d stay away.
