Super 8 by Wyndham Woodburn

We had a great overnight stay. We booked two rooms, and both were clean and tidy, though one smelled of smoke. I sprayed some air freshener, thinking it might be coming from another room, and didn’t report it. I’ve read that someone else was charged $25 for smoke odor even though they didn’t smoke and hadn’t reported it, so I hope that won’t happen to me. I was charged a $100 deposit for each room, which I was told would be refunded at checkout. They said it could take a few days to show up on my card, so I haven’t received it yet. I’ll update once I get the deposit and final charges. Thank you so much for a great overnight stay.

The prices were decent compared with other hotels and motels in town, and the kids had a lot of fun in the pool. The guy at the front desk was helping someone else but greeted me and said he’d be with me in a moment. The rooms looked fairly clean. My only issue was the limited parking. I had to leave the car farther from the doors and walk there with the kids and our things.

I’ve never stayed in a dirtier hotel. The room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks: stains on the walls and mattress, hair in the bathroom, sticky floors, and an unbearable smell of mildew mixed with old smoke. The bathroom was worst, with mold on the walls, grime in the tub, and toiletries left by previous guests. I didn’t feel comfortable sitting on the bed. When I complained, staff acted as if this was normal and didn’t seem to care. Management and the store manager also brushed it off. I even got charged after cleaning the bathtub and removing trash that had been left behind. The on-site store manager was just as bad as the management we called, short-tempered and unhelpful, as if customers were a nuisance. Customer service clearly wasn’t a priority. For the price, this was a rip-off. Don’t stay here. I say that despite what anyone else thinks, and I have proof. There were also charges on my card that I believe were fraudulent, and I have proof of that too. After I asked for a full refund and had problems, they used my debit card after I’d left, so I had to get a new card and file a police report. I’m still waiting for my refund. I can share the pictures or post them all over Google. Don’t use a debit card here. Read the other reviews, I’m not the only one saying it’s disgusting and dirty and nothing was cleaned.

The website may need updating, but I learned that the plural “pets” means more than one dog. This location only accepts dogs, so don’t book if your pet isn’t a dog. My pet is a service animal, and I believe this policy may be against the law. I couldn’t even get two words out before he dismissed me, which I felt violated my rights. At least I can spell and read, and know not to make a word plural if it means one. What a joke. I had to cancel the reservation and drive farther down the highway.
