Courtyard by Marriott St Paul Woodbury

Breakfast was included in what we paid for, but one person was cooking and taking orders. It took 5-10 minutes just to order and another 20 for the food, so we had to buy breakfast elsewhere. We didn’t have 30 minutes to spare. Our group was let down across the board by how understaffed the hotel was. One teammate was given a room that still had the previous guest’s dirty sheets. When we reported it, staff said that was the best they could do. That person left and checked into a Hilton instead. I feel for the employees, who were rushing between jobs and even left the desk unattended, but the hotel wasn’t ready to look after guests properly. It split up our group unnecessarily. The teammate at the Hilton had positive things to say about it.

The location is great. Texas Roadhouse is just across the lot, and Whole Foods, Sierra Trading Post, and other shops are within a 5-minute walk. Across the road there’s Cabelas, Home Depot, TJ Maxx, Dicks, Ulta, Tamarack Taproom, a grocery store, little Ceasars, a smoke shop, and more. Savers is half a mile away for thrifting, Goodwill is 6-7min by Uber, and Walmart and Sams Club are near Goodwill. There’s even physical therapy across the lot if you pull a hammy after getting a little too freaky one night. Lmao. Our double queen suite was good value, and the room and pool area were clean. The staff were friendly, the hot tub was at temperature with all jets working, and there were smart TVs in both the sleeping and sitting areas. Netflix worked fine. There was no refrigerator, though, which I really need for drinks, snacks, and dinner leftovers. No continental breakfast, which was a huge bummer. It was $15 for two eggs, two bacon strips, frozen potato cubes, and toast. That adds up with a family. Coffee was from a limited Starbucks menu, so add $8 to breakfast.

They charged us a $250 smoking fee even though we don't smoke. When we called to dispute it and asked what proof they had, they couldn't tell us. What a rip off. Breakfast costs extra too. If you need a hotel, find somewhere else. These guys are thieves.

Both rooms we were in had issues. The first bathroom was filthy, with throw up on the floor and hair all through the tub. In the room they moved us to, the sink Handel was missing.
