Staybridge Suites Detroit Woodhaven by IHG

My husband and our 12-year-old son nearly had to drive home through dangerous weather, two hours away, because Lyndsey wouldn't check them in during a snowstorm at 8 PM. We had to ask a friend to cover the incidental fee so they wouldn't be stranded. The room was fully paid for, and my card was already on file, but Lyndsey insisted I had to be there in person for the $100 fee. My husband offered to call me, and I gave verbal consent, offered to send a photo of my driver's license, and even read out the card number to confirm who I was. He has the same last name as me, but she still wouldn't work with us. She was rude and dismissive instead of trying to solve the problem. When we expressed our frustration, she said, “I’m not going to let you yell at me. I will just cancel your room.” It felt like she was escalating things and being combative instead of helping. Thankfully, our friend helped out. Otherwise my husband and child would have been stranded because of Lyndsey's lack of professionalism and compassion. For a brand that's meant to welcome families and travelers, this was completely unacceptable. I wouldn't recommend this Staybridge Suites in Woodhaven (Detroit), Michigan to anyone who wants reliable, respectful service.

I've only stayed a few times, but every staff member remembered me. They make you feel welcome and safe, and everyone is so kind. I could call this place Cheers, because everybody knows your name. This will definitely be my go-to hotel when I'm in town for work. The breakfast has great bacon, possibly the best I've had at a hotel. Then there are the 5 to 7 o'clock wine, beer, and snacks. It's a wonderful experience. Bravo to the hospitality team, keep it up.

The room was super clean, parking is convenient, and there's a gas station a minute away. The new Staybridge is a good spot if you want a quiet stay. I appreciate the staff for keeping the place outstanding.

My best friend is getting married, and we've been trying to arrange hotel blocks here for weeks. We keep being told someone will get in touch soon, or we call and email with no answer. We want to send the hotel a lot of business, but they aren't responding to calls or emails or getting back to us. Ridiculous. Please get back to us ASAP!!!!!! >:( Editing this because the response told us to contact them through the main line and website. We've done that for 2.5 weeks now, still no answer or reply.
