We first started coming here in the mid-90s for a weekend golf trip with the guys, and this year was just as great as the others. It was our first visit back since the clubhouse and bar area were redone. The food and service were both great, and their smash burger was one of the best I’ve had. If I lived closer, I’d stop in just to get one. We’ll definitely be back. 10/10, highly recommend.

The setting in Thornton, NH was peaceful, and the mountain views around the resort were gorgeous. We rented an Airbnb for our time in New Hampshire and enjoyed the scenic quiet. There’s lots to do nearby, and having the golf course right next door was great. The room was smaller than it looked in the pictures, so it felt a little cramped, though it worked fine for a couple. The staff were very unresponsive when we asked for a blanket and pillow, since there was only one bed, and when we called and texted about other things. Apart from that, we had a great stay.

The layout is nice and the greens are good, which is the only reason I’m giving this course a star. There’s barely any grass, so expect to hit from dirt and weeds. My local municipal course charges $12 for nine holes and is much better. Please put in grass and run some sprinklers.

The new owners have done a great job. In the short time they’ve been here, they’ve cleaned up the course, and the clubhouse is amazing upstairs and down. The whole transformation is impressive. The people who work there are friendly and courteous, and we had a great time over the weekend of July 25, 2025. Thanks to everyone at the Jack. See you soon! I’ve been bringing a group of guys to the Jack for over 30 years for The Ole Woodsman Open. We’ve seen several owners over that time, and the previous ones didn’t seem to care about course upkeep or the awful smell in the clubhouse.

A clean, roomy place to stay, and the owner was very helpful. It’s away from the traffic, yet only 10 minutes from lots of restaurants and the Kancamangus Hwy.
