Super 8 Woodward

I talked with Chris, who gave me useful information, suggested a restaurant in town, and made me feel welcome. The place is secure, with a spotless lobby, clean rooms, and a fresh-looking exterior. It’s easy to get to and very reasonably priced. This definitely isn’t the old Shady 8 Motel chain we warriors knew and loved. Wyndham has done a great job continuing renovations across the whole chain.

The price is very cheap, and the staff were great, but this was one of the dirtiest places I’ve stayed. I’ve been on the road since '10. They only change the towels daily, and don’t clean the bugs, sheets, or floor at all.

We first stopped here in December as a cheap midway point on our trip home. I expected it to disappoint, but the service and staff were amazing, so we came back months later on the way to our wedding vacation. This time we were greeted with a champagne popper, candy, and a card, along with the same great room, service, and people. Thanks to Summer and everyone who made our night so nice. Keep it up, we’ll be back!

For the price, the stay worked for me while I was here long term for work. Chris, the manager, was friendly and helpful, as was Sommer, the housekeeping manager. The rest of the staff were tolerable. The bed was comfortable, the TV had a decent channel selection, and there were no bugs, which is always good. But the rooms facing the highway are VERY NOISY all day and most of the night, and you either get used to it or you don’t. I often had to remake my bed because the fitted sheets weren’t pulled all the way onto the mattress. The carpet and amenities are dated, and there’s no indoor sprinkler system for fires. They advertise handicap-accessible rooms, but there are no bathroom or shower handrails and no shower chairs or seating. The towels were old, small, and thin.
