My husband had breakfast, though I skipped it. There were waffles, cereal, breakfast breads, and fruit, but no protein, and the cabinet fronts in the mostly clean breakfast area could use a proper scrub. We got to stay an hour past checkout without an extra charge, then I could keep working in the dining area and use the internet until 5 p.m. My husband was at a conference, so having somewhere to sit with my laptop and work after checkout was a big help. The room and bathroom were clean and stocked, with a fridge and microwave, which you don't always get at a budget motel. The front desk and housekeeping staff were especially friendly and accommodating. This was the most welcoming Super 8 we've stayed at. It is an old place and smells that way, and the whole property has a former-smoking-facility smell. The carpets could use an update too. Keep in mind it's a budget chain, so if you want everything perfect, pay more. I also appreciated not being asked for a security deposit and then told to wait 7-10 business days for it back, which has become a very irritating routine at a lot of places.

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It felt more like a shelter for homeless people, dogs, and addicts than a hotel, with activity going on all night. I felt there was no safety at all. Cleanliness was just as bad: dried blue drips of something in the tub, hair all over the bathroom, a toilet seat that wasn't screwed down, yellow stains on the sheets, and a filthy refrigerator.

I was shown a 1 p.m. late checkout in my rewards account, but the staff kept telling me checkout was at 11. After two workers knocked, a third, who I believe was the owner, came to my door and yelled that I was due out at 11:30 and would have to pay. I explained that I was a rewards member and showed him the screenshot. He said my status only gave me one hour, not until 1 p.m., but the screenshot clearly said 1 p.m. and that I didn't have to pay. I had asked for late checkout and wasn't told it meant only 30 minutes. Why was I being put out into the cold at 11:30? I'm so upset that I was yelled at and told to pay for something that was free.

I reviewed this place after staying here last year, and now that review seems to have been deleted. If the company is removing reviews, it should at least disclose the roaches and the fact that they have to spray for them monthly. That can ruin someone's life.
