Western Motel

For $75, you can’t beat it. I’ve used this place for getaways a bunch of times, and pretty much every room I’ve stayed in has been great. The guy who works there is great too, really chill and clearly keeps the place in good shape. Definitely check it out.

The room itself was good and clear, but the TV picture was fuzzy. No continental breakfast, which was fine for the price. Some coffee would’ve been nice, though.

The local grocery store is right across the street, and fast food spots are an easy walk away. I needed somewhere cheap for two nights while heading to Wrens on vacation, and this worked out. The motel sits right on US-1, the longest north-south road in the country. My room was clean, I didn’t see any bugs, and the Wi-Fi was great. If you just need a no-frills budget, one-star place to sleep, it delivers. Could also work if you need an inexpensive spot outside Augusta.

They charge the same for a room with two beds as for one with a single bed. I was charged a $140 fee for the single-bed room, even though I could have had a two-bed queen-size room, with both rooms beside each other. When I complained about the prices, he quickly refunded me. Still, it was a real hassle, and a lot of money for what they offer. They also couldn’t print, text, or email me a receipt for the credit card payment.
