After more than seven weeks there, the back stairwell still hadn’t been mopped, despite my wife and me bringing it up every day. That changed when Shoniece came from Indiana to fill in during a management reshuffle. I mentioned it to her, and within an hour she was scrubbing the stairs by hand and dry mopping them herself. She remembers guests by face, name, and room number, and she’s personable, proud of her work, and really focused on customers. She deserves a raise, and Indiana is lucky to have her. When we first checked in, service was good and the room was awesome.

My son has grown up here and feels more at home than anywhere else. I moved in with my girlfriend and him when some difficult circumstances meant I had to relocate, and this has been a cozy, budget-friendly place to live. The staff have been incredibly friendly and helpful, and they’ve worked with me more than once. I’ve never had a bad experience. Michelle, the manager, deserves a special mention for going above and beyond. When the bathroom faucet gave me trouble after I moved in, she got maintenance to fix it right away. Later, when the AC became a problem, they moved us to another room. That’s a lot of flexibility. Five stars!

I stayed at Extended Stay for a few weeks before I could move into my home, and being close to my work and the shopping centers was really convenient. The suite felt like a little studio apartment. Highway noise was rough from my third-floor end room, so I used earplugs and managed. There was some hallway noise from other guests, which comes with a complex-style place. Housekeeping wasn’t a big deal for me since everyone cleans differently, and weekly rates were the cheapest in all grand rapids. There’s no free breakfast or coffee because the room has a kitchen where I could make my own. Laundry is on site, though a bit pricey at $5 to wash and $3 to dry. The staff were nice, and I enjoyed the stay enough that I wish I hadn’t moved into my apartment. I’ll definitely be back. If you want less highway noise and other hood ruckus, Kentwood is about $20 more a night and more peaceful, but you pay for that.

Jesse gave me helpful pointers about ordering food and nearby places in the community. The customer service was second to none, and the product quality keeps exceeding my expectations. Thanks to Jesse, the trip felt even more welcoming!
